The workshop at Abbey Piano Services is equipped with highly specialised machinery to help with the intricate craftsmanship that goes into the restoration or repair of every piano. Only the very best materials are used, sourced from a variety of suppliers from across the world.
Every Piano is as individual as the needs of the customer. Whether you are a beginner or professional, we can offer advice on your Piano restoration. We are proud of the fact that we are a small family run business that can offer a more tailored and personal solution to your needs.
Following an initial assessment of your instrument we will clearly explain your options. We will draw up a quote detailing all of the work that we advise to be carried out and explain the costs involved upfront.
At any point during your restoration or repair with Abbey Piano Services, we will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Restoration work can include: replacing the original wrestplank that holds the tuning pins, re-guilding the frame, replacing all the strings, reconditioning or in some cases replacing the action, drying, repairing and refinishing the soundboard and re-polishing the case. The piano is then finely regulated and has many tunings to stabilise it.
Once the piano has been returned you will receive three service calls in the first year to help the piano settle down.
